The delight of travel in the UK is the fact that you never know what the weather is going to do. I’ve taken a break in March for the last three years (twice going to Northwest Scotland), and been lucky with weather each time. The advantage of trips in March is the fact that there are not many other tourists about so it’s very quiet, the disadvantage is that that means that not everywhere is open!

Great itinerary and beautiful pictures. I may well take a page from your book and use it as a starting point for planning our future trip. I didn’t know March was a particularly good time for visiting the country, I imagined it would be quite wet. Is this a classically good month for visiting or was it happenstance that the weather cooperated? Is there a pleasant and warm time you’d recommend?

When I wrote this last year Bopara did seem to be sorting things out with his three successive centuries following his previous three successive ducks. I’m still not sure about the top of our order – Trott looks good, but there still always seems to be a weak link – I just hope it’s not Pietersen!

Looking forward to the cricket season in 2010 but I have to say that Trott is a much better player for the no3 sport. Ravi should be batting 5 or 6.

It sounds like you like great travel and a really good bottle of wine, how does sitting back on the sun deck of a Luxury Catamaran in the Galapagos Islands, with a glass of your favorite wine, listening to the waves crashing against the shore carrying all of your thoughts accross the ocean sound. They decided – this is the statement.

“MCC believes that the ‘switch-hit’ stroke is exciting for the game of cricket,” a statement said. “Indeed, the stroke conforms to the laws of cricket and will not be legislated against.”

The MCC, which acts as the custodian of cricket’s laws, was asked by the International Cricket Council to discuss Pietersen’s revolutionary tactics at a meeting on Tuesday.
