mmm – Alsatian goodness!! Big passion for Alsatian wine (it goes very well with cricket, and also with practically any food you could mention – particularly curry oddly enough). I try to travel to the Alsace every couple of years, visiting my favourite growers, and generally just doing a lot of tasting, and spending rather too much money!
I have a couple of favourite growers – Jos. Straub et Fils, and Domaine Robert Haag et fils, from whom I tend to do most of my buying. I tend to mainly buy Cremant d’Alsace and Gewürtztraminer, but also buy a lot of Riesling and Pinot Gris.
A lot of the growers still use traditional methods, which adds to the experience!
