Michael Vaughan Scores 6th Century at Lords

So Michael Vaughan, having been written off as being totally out of form and a liability in England’s top order by many a pundit, has again proved that he has what it takes to keep his place on batting ability alone, by digging England out of a potential hole on Day 4 of the 1st Test at Lords. He is now the joint record holder for centuries scored at Lords (6 – with Graham Gooch) and is fifth on the list of all time top run-scorers at Lords. Hopefully this form will continue throughout the season.

Stuart Broad is looking increasingly like a suitable replacement for the dogged Ashley Giles in the number 8 slot of the batting order. His accomplished support of Michael Vaughan today showed what he is capable of in the lower middle order.

With all the bad weather though, the match is looking increasingly like a draw, barring a spectacular collapse by New Zealand tomorrow morning. Can the England bowlers find some 5th day inspiration?
